Our History

Lidcombe Waratah Junior Soccer Club was established in 1938 and this year we celebrate 80 years supporting soccer in the local community.

Preparation & Season Draw

Each year Lidcombe Waratah, as well as most other clubs, goes through a chaotic period of registering players/coaches/managers/officials, organising and grading teams, buying and updating equipment for the new season (balls, mini goals, shirts, etc), arranging trial games, and so on.

At the beginning of each season, the Granville and Districts Soccer Football Association (GDSFA) starts working on the season draw but with some teams being re-graded and others withdrawing from the competition there are always changes in the first few rounds.

When the full draw for the season is available, we will advise all coaches & managers.  The draw will also be available on the GDSFA website and you will be able to see the results for all competition games and where your team sits on the ladder.

Parents – How can you help?

As well as being our coaches & managers, each team will be rostered on duty twice a year to help with setting up the fields, cooking on the BBQ and in the canteen.  For this we ask parents to donate 1 hour of their time, twice a year and the roster will be covered.  If you want to help out more often, your offer will be gratefully accepted.
