The Youth 2 team pride themselves on their good work ethic, diversity, ability to function as a team and establishing long-term friendships.
Early on at the start of the 2018 season the team established their commitment to volunteer for various organisations as part of their team bonding experiences and also giving back to the community. The team’s volunteer activities so far:
- Sleep Out, Youth Off the Streets (2018)
- TBC (2019)
Youth 2 is led by Head Coach, Yasmin Mehmed, who currently plays in the NPL NSW Women’s League; Assistant Coach, Margaret Taofi, who currently plays in the Lidcombe AAL team; and Manager, Agnes Lui. Both Coaches and Manager have taken the team to higher divisions and Grand Finals.
The Youth 2 team were unfortunately knocked out of the 2018 Final Series against Ermington United in the major semi’s. Despite their loss they were able to successfully place 2nd on the ladder with an overall 60 goals in the season.

Auburn Review: Players ‘out in cold’ to raise cash for homeless
The Youth 2 team raised just over $2,300 for their Sleep Out for Youth Off The Streets (YOTS) held on 6 July. The team endured one winter’s night out at Coleman Park with the team experiencing what some people, specifically youth, go through everyday.
The team would like to thank everyone that contributed time, effort and money towards the team’s campaign to bring awareness of YOTS services and provide some support to their work for our community. A special mention to the following local businesses that helped sponsor the night:
- Family Butchery, 3 Beatrice Street Auburn
- Kismet Cafe Auburn, 20 Auburn Road Auburn
We look forward to see what the Youth team have in mind in their commitment to community services and volunteer work next season!
